Writing in The Bold Italic, product manager Dolores Pan explains everything you need to know about Blind, an anonymous job network designed for tech professionals in Silicon Valley and beyond.

Like most places online these days, the forum has its benefits, especially in our current world of remote work. Pan writes, “During the Covid-19 layoffs in 2020, Blind became an early warning signal to tech employees on what might be going down and how it could affect them.”

But it also has a racist and sexist dark side, where participants chastise workers for participating in Black Lives Matter protests and debate whether a man should date a woman who has previously had a one-night stand (because everything seems to be a dating site these days?).
